This cottage is 1 mile from the A1 and just under a mile from the beach on a national cycle route. Berwick is approximately 6 miles away where there is plenty to see and Lindisfarne is a few miles away. The area has an abundance of beaches, castles and historic houses. The accommodation offered is a double room with 5ft bed, television, and provision to make hot drinks in the room. Guests have use of their own private bathroom, not en suite, with shower over the bath, washbasin and toilet.
This is a rural area 0.8 miles from the very extensive beach and 1 mile from the A1. Farm vehicles pass by very regularly through the day, and this can be late at night a couple of times in the year. Public transport is on the A1 and the nearest shops are in Tweedmouth which is 5 miles away. Unless you are keen walkers you will probably need your own transport or be prepared to use taxis.

The caravan is located at Haggerston Castle holiday park in Northumberland. If you wish to use facilities inside the complex such as swimming and night time entertainment you will need to purchase passes from reception, prices for these can be found on the haven website. There is a tv in the living room with Netflix and another in the larger twin room. There is plenty of kids games, dvds, cooking utensils feel free to use everything but please leave it all how you found it when you leave. Thanks
The park is close to Berwick-upon-Tweed, Holy Island, Sea Houses, Alnwick castle and gardens, Paxton house and many more great locations if you fancied a trip out and there is plenty of family activities, entertainment and places to eat and shop on the site. The park is beautifully landscaped around the castle and lakes, perfect for an evening stroll after a meal or a few drinks.

We are a rural location and very quiet and peaceful.

Recommande vraiment!

In a secluded young orchard overlooking an organic meadow stands our beautiful shepherd’s hut. With a small shower en-suite, fully-equipped kitchen and electric heating, you’ll have everything you need for a toasty-warm, very special stay. Pull up a chair before the Hobbit wood burning stove and revel in the cosiness, or snuggle into feather bedding dressed with scrumptious organic linen. Open the stable door and listen to the stillness of the starry evening and discover something magical!
In the kitchen you’ll find a full sized oven, two ring halogen hob, microwave, ceramic sink and full sized fridge with ice box – everything you need to design dinner for two. The shower room has washbasin, heated towel rail, toilet and a shower fed from the large hot water tank with immersion heater – ensuring there is oodles of hot water. The shepherd's hut has underfloor heating and an electric radiator, so you'll be cosy whatever the weather. Birds foot trefoil, oxeye daisies and wild carrot stud the grass between young fruit trees where the hut stands. This is the Croft, once the paddock where the Victorian farmer kept his horse, with a shallow stream at one end. Wildlife passes through this still haven; hare, deer, fox and badger. Sit quietly surrounded by birdsong and the murmur of the gentle running stream. Embracing our green ethos, the shepherd’s hut is a well-insulated, energy efficient little home running on green electricity. We’ve tried to keep it local; joiners Scott and Scott from Derek Allan, Belford, enthusiastically and skillfully brought our imaginings to life, aided by other local craftsmen, and a great Douglas Fir was felled for our chassis at Abby St Bathans. We’ve used beautiful environmentally-friendly paints and oils; Farrow and Ball, Osmo and even a recycled New Life emulsion, and carefully chosen organic cotton towels and bed linen. We want our shepherd’s hut to sit gently in the environment.
We’ve created a farm trail to help you explore Hunting Hall – a truly magical place! Take a stroll to the woodland, bird hide and pond where you can try pond dipping. Seats along the way overlook a bird scrape, organic meadow and wildflower area. Over 100 heritage fruit trees are planted in our community orchard which has fabulous views across to the sea from the belvedere. It’s an easy walk across the fields to the local village to buy groceries from the corner shop or enjoy a meal at The Black Bull. Visit the island of Lindisfarne, once an important centre of English Christianity. In the stillness of evening voices of seals resting on sand banks drift across the water to the island. A castle rises out of the rock, once guarding the harbour entrance. A boat trip from Seahouses to the Farne Islands to see seals, puffins and sea-birds is an exciting adventure. In the spring cliff ledges house thousands of nests and the puffins, with their clown like beaks, bob around the boats. Northumberland’s beautiful sandy beaches are overlooked by spectacular castles. Enjoy an evening excursion to Bamburgh where the great castle illuminates the sparkling sand, whilst out at sea lights glint and glimmer – an enchanting experience. Alnwick castle captivates children – here Harry Potter learnt to fly! The Alnwick Gardens showcase stunning planting schemes, a tree house restaurant and water features which will intrigue all ages. Discover the dark mysteries of the Poison Garden! The wild Cheviot Hills offer breath-taking views of untamed moorland. Walks starting in beautiful valleys with tumbling clear streams, quickly rise onto bracken covered slopes grazed by native sheep. Pause by a sun-warmed wall and enjoy the wildness. It’s a lovely walk to Cuthbert’s Cave where the monks carrying St Cuthbert’s remains are said to have rested beneath the rocky outcrop. Nestled in the shade of woodland along a track lined with daffodils, the cave offers peace and a place of wonder.

The island of Lindisfarne is a short drive, and the gorgeous coast with its golden beaches can be seen from the upstairs sitting room. Near to historic berwick upon tweed and not far from famous castles bamburgh and alnwick. The cheviot hills are near and great cycling is close by. The outstanding finish of the bedrooms and living areas, the welcoming atmosphere and the chance to stay on a rural working farm with great views all round. Good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.

Skylark cottage has a great homely feel, real wood fire and cosy sitting room, a really beautiful cottage. Great location for exploring and relaxing, opportunities for campfires, birdwatching and outdoor tree platform for stargazing and dining. Truly rural location remote yet well located for exploring Holy Island, Bamburgh, Cheviot Hills and Alnwick
Laverock law is a unique space which has total tranquillity, amazing wildlife and really is a place to relax and unwind, the cottages are spacious, with pine furniture, open fires and a true homely fell to them coupled with great hospitality.

Parking No vehicle access is permitted in the paddock where the shepherd’s huts are located, and parking sits to the left of the farm entrance which is approximately 50 yards from the site entrance. Babies & Children Cow Parsley is not particularly suited to babies and infants. The inner paddock where the shepherd’s hut is located is fully enclosed, however the adjoining field has a pond and younger children will require supervision around this area. Guests can also hire Colin, a cutesy retro caravan at £20 per night (subject to availability) where the younger members of the family can have their own little mini adventure - a fun den for day use but set-up for sleeping capacity too! Dogs Two dogs are permitted. Dogs must be clean and dry before access into the hut and must be kept off the beds. An outside tap is available. The inner paddock where the hut is located is fully enclosed. Guest Amenities Bed linen, towels and guest toiletries are provided. A hair dryer is supplied. Wi-Fi & Mobile Coverage Satellite Wi-Fi is very intermittent and an alternative solution is being explored. Mobile reception is generally good. Heating The hut has electric tubular heating and an electric ‘real flame effect’ stove. Guest Privacy The paddock is shared with two other shepherd’s huts, Foxglove and Teasel with a wide open aspect across the adjoining field. Water Supply Water is from a private supply borehole and the water is suitable for drinking.
The huts are well located for exploring the local area, sitting approximately 4 miles from the stunning Northumberland coastline and around 12 miles from the Northumberland National Park. Cow Parsley sits approximately 3.5 miles from the village of Lowick where you can buy a range of provisions from the well-stocked village store, including freshly baked bread, cakes and scones as well as lovely local produce. 10 miles and 10.5 miles respectively will take you to the charming villages of Belford and Wooler where you will find a good selection of small town shopping, as well as a selection of eateries, inns and pubs. Alternatively a more extensive range of amenities, including large supermarkets, can be found in Berwick-upon-Tweed just a short 7.5 mile drive away.
