A uniquely appointed wood cabin sited under mature oak trees in our lovely garden. The Shack has one lovely room with kitchen area inc microwave, fridge and toaster, no cooker but a single electric ring. Items for breakfast will be left for your first night and you are welcome to request more. These include homemade bread and jam, milk, tea and coffee and cereal. Well insulated so warm in winter and cool in summer. 3 miles to the coast. A short drive to Exmoor or the Quantock hills. Meet our chickens and dogs, chill on the veranda listening to birds and the river, or stroll to the very local pub.
The Shack comprises a good size room with double bed. There's a kitchenette and your own bathroom with toilet, sink and our special galvanised metal shower! As we are keen to re-use and upcycle as much as possible you will find many examples of this in the shack. There's the pallet wood wall and floor which was taken up from an old pub skittle alley. Lights and other features hand made by ourselves in reclaimed wood.
The Shack is situated in the hamlet of Torre (pronounced tor) just a few yards from the river Washford. The White Horse pub is just a few metres away, has a beer garden next to the river and otters can occasionally be seen. We are pretty quiet yet not isolated and only 10 minutes from the coast at Blue Anchor. Washford has a lovely quirky small zoo which has great indoor and outdoor play areas and is enjoyed by adults and children alike. The Steam railway (which is the longest in the country) stops in the village and the train is often heard from our property. The neighbourhood is very friendly and welcoming. Our property is set in a small valley and there are many trees around. The sound of birds ( Inc owls) around the shack is lovely and we regularly get nuthatches, tree creepers, long tailed tits and goldfinches to our feeders. Sit on your terrace and listen to the river and relax...

The Snug is a cosy cottage ideal for a couple or friends looking for some time away. With a log burner and a bedroom with exposed beams offering views over Dunkery Beacon, you might never want to leave the house! Freshly renovated and located in the centre of the village of Timberscombe, The Snug is an ideal location for short to medium length breaks or those who are planning on spending the majority of their time in the great outdoors.
Downstairs we have a cosy lounge with a log burner and a small kitchenette (mini fridge, kettle, tea and coffee), allowing you to make a warm drink after a day exploring Exmoor. Upstairs is the king sized bedroom and the bathroom. Please note that this is an old cottage, so the stairs are fairly steep. We are happy to welcome well behaved dogs (one medium sized or maximum of two small), but please do not allow dogs on the furniture or upstairs, or leave them unattended. Please also note that there is no garden with The Snug. However there are many walks and places to toilet your dogs a few metres from the front door. For those looking to stay connected whilst away, we have fibre broadband with a dedicated guest mesh WiFi network, meaning you will have fast and reliable internet. Phone signal is generally good in the village. Vodafone, EE, and O2 customers should get 4G reception. ‘Three’ customers may struggle indoors, but WiFi calling is possible on our WiFi.
Timberscombe is a traditional farming village in the Exmoor National Park and is in prime position for exploring the surrounding area. In the village itself we have a fantastic pub, The Lion Inn, which is highly recommended for a meal and a drink. Conveniently it's just a few doors down, so within easy stumbling distance! There's also a local shop and Post Office should you need to top up on essential supplies. We're a three mile (six minute) drive to the historic medieval village of Dunster. Alternatively you can walk there via Nutcombe Bottom forest, which contains the tallest tree in England! We are also ideally placed to enjoy Snowdrop Valley, which is a spectacle not to be missed if you're visiting in the winter. Minehead is six miles (10 minutes) down the road, and contains all of the amenities you could require for a week away. There are three supermarkets (Tesco, Morrisons, and Lidl) all within a stones throw of each other. Exmoor is a walking and cycling (road or mountain) heaven. We’ve created a list of our favourite routes, which you can find in your Guest Handbook when you arrive. These are a combination of spectacular routes leaving from the front door, and those further afield which you’ll need to travel to. Horse riding and fishing are two of the other major hobbies, with plenty of locations to give these a go. Golfers can find Somerset’s oldest golf course down at Minehead, which is a links course based on the coast. For the more adventurous, Wimbleball Lake and Porlock Weir are both a 20 minute drive away, and allow for swimming, kayaking, and other water sports. For those looking for beaches, Minehead is big and sandy and great for a family day out. Porlock and Bossington are quieter, but are pebbly. A bit further afield are the magnificent Woolacombe and Croyde beaches which are famous for surfing.

A delightful converted barn tucked away in a valley that can accommodate 6 people. Set in stunning scenery with uninterrupted views over the hills and a cobbled courtyard to the rear, home to our farmyard characters - ducks, chickens and Thunderbolt the goose. There is a small enclosed garden area to enjoy a bit of al fresco living and includes a BBQ.
Wheddon Cross is right in the heart of Exmoor. Excellently located for exploring the whole it is a thriving village. There is a village pub in walking distance, a petrol station, village shop and a church. The village is the highest on Exmoor and the closest to Dunkery Beacon the highest point on Exmoor.

Mid 19th century, recently restored cottage, next to church in the centre of the beautiful village of Dunster with its castle and medieval yarn market. Floral Cottage has been decorated in keeping with its age but to give a light, airy feeling and finished with quality antique furnishings.
The cottage is situated ideally in the village on a quiet, residential street but within a couple of minutes walk of all the facilities in Dunster, including the Castle. The ground floor consists of living area with large fireplace, underfloor heating, dining area and fully fitted kitchen leading out to a walled patio area with garden table and chairs. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms, the front bedroom has a kingsized bed and the back bedroom is fitted with two single beds. There is a family bathroom with over bath power shower. Gas central heating via radiators is provided upstairs. Parking is available on the road opposite the cottage. Use of a shared communal garden is also available A welcome pack of grocery essentials together with a homemade cake and fresh flowers will be provided in the cottage on arrival.
The cottage is situated on a quiet residential street just a couple of minutes walk from the main street of Dunster. Amongst the many eating places, our favourites are Reeves for that special occasion and The Luttrell Arms with its traditional bar and good food.

This converted barn hosts two holiday cottages on a working farm of 280 acres on The Exmoor National Park in Somerset. The location has fantastic views, ample parking, lots of freedom for walking and a taste of a working farm's life. Beeknees Cottage is decorated simply with exoposed beams. It has all the provisions you need for a self catering holiday with bed linen and towels included. The cottage sleeps 4, and has a travel cott. Dogs (maximum 2) are very welcome as well.
Beesknees Cottage is located in a beautiful farm setting. Off and away from busy roads, its so peaceful and quiet. Apart from the occasional farm vehicle. People always say how well they sleep here as its so quiet and very dark at night with a gazillion stars! The farm is 280 acres of space to explore and relax in, so come and switch off! The inside space consists of a fully equipped kitchen with cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, pans, cutlery etc. This leads onto a dining area with table and chairs. Then onto a cozy sitting room that seats 4-5 with a tv and DVD player. Downstairs in a toilet. Upstairs is a bathroom with bath and shower. A twin bedroom and a king size double room. This room leads out onto a patio area in the garden. There is a bbq to use in the garden as well.

The mobile home is located just 40 metres from the shore of Wimbleball lake. You have fantastic views from your private decking out across the lake and you also have direct access to the lake for walks etc. For the more adventurous water sports can be booked at the lake as well as kayaking, sailboarding, stand-up paddle boarding and fly fishing.
We are just 20 minutes from the beautiful Exmoor town of Dulverton and 30 minutes from the Exmoor heritage coast. What's more we are in a designated dark sky area and on a clear night the stars are truly amazing. The mobile home is ideally suited to families and couples. The unit is fully self contained and has its own private parking. We are a small family hill farm and guests are welcome to get involved with seasonal farming activities and see the animals.
Set in the tranquil Exmoor National Park over looking lake Wimbleball. The mobile home is in a very private and peaceful setting.

A stunning, dog friendly conversion of our historic courtyard barn. Featuring vaulted ceilings and built from Exmoor stone, it has plenty of character, whilst still having all the amenities required for your time away. Tucked away in the centre of the village of Timberscombe, The Barn is an ideal location to explore Exmoor National Park.
The open plan sitting and dining room is the central point, with the king sized bedroom and kitchen either side. The kitchen has a delightful cottage feel while containing all the modern conveniences one would expect to make you feel at home.  The bathroom comes complete with a power shower. We are happy to welcome a maximum of two well behaved, medium sized dogs, but please do not allow dogs on the furniture or leave them unattended. The Barn is located in a courtyard, and although we have no grass garden, there are multiple footpaths and green areas just metres from the front door.

The cottage is also a leisurely 4 minute walk from Dunster Castle and in the heart of the village. There is little light pollution, so the sky is beautiful on a clear night. The cottage is ideally located for wedding guests attending the Tithe Barn, which is a short walk through the church yard or Dunster community garden. Unfortunately, as this is a quiet area, we do not allow parties or stag and hen groups.

A traditional cottage, 400 years old, Grade II Listed, spacious but cosy, full of charm and character, well-equipped modern kitchen and bathroom. On the edge of Exmoor; easy access to useful local shops, town, steam railway and beaches. A perfect base for exploring this beautiful area with its many tourist attractions. For gentle or challenging walks and clean air, the cottage is a comfortable tranquil place to come home to after a day of exploring. Bring your well-behaved dog! Read on....
The cottage is old and quirky, so expect steps and some low doorways. While these add to its charm, guests need to be aware that this may mean reduced accessibility for some people, so enquire before booking if you have mobility issues. Wifi and phone reception is good, if patchy at the back of the house (kitchen and one bedroom) because of the thick stone walls. Upstairs is carpeted, so we ask that outdoor shoes and pets remain downstairs only.
The cottage is located in perfect walking territory, including the South West Coastal. Path. Woodland walks leading onto Exmoor are just up the road and can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. The local pub is 100 yards away, and a quiet by-road will take you to the lovely medieval village of Dunster, with its ancient castle, 2 miles away. Minehead has a wonderful restored steam railway that extends to Bishops Lydeard, with many stops on the way and villages to explore. Blue Anchor and Dunster beaches are open to dogs all year round. The area is well served by traditional tearooms serving cakes and cream teas!
