A cozy 'shed' with twin beds and heating for chilly nights. Situated within the owners property, sited in the centre of the Forest of Dean a mere 100 yards from one of the best mountain biking and cycling centres in the UK. The 'bike shed' looks out over the forest and bike storage. Fantastic location for walking, biking, canoeing the River Wye and exploring this wonderful location. The private washroom is 20 yards from the 'shed' up and down some well lit steps in the owners property.
The bike shed is within the owners garden. The bike shed has twin beds, complimentary tea, coffee and water. Access to washroom is up and down some well lit steps. Access to washroom is up and down some well lit steps. There is bike storage and facilities to wash your bikes. The garden is used daily by the owners family and pets (dog, cat and two free range chickens). The property has direct access to the forest with a variety of walks. We are located almost opposite Cannop cycle centre (pedalabikeaway) and its fantastic mountain biking downhill trails- one of the best in the UK.
We live in a small quiet village with forest all around. There is direct access into the forest over a small brook. We have constantly changing views as the trees go through the year. The birds and wildlife bring a morning chorus and evening song,(often very loudly). Wild boar and deer often pass the gate. The Wye valley offers walks, canoeing, riding and peregine falcons. We also keep honey bees. The Forest of Dean has some fantastic attractions for everyone including Clearwell Caves, Hopewell colliery, Puzzlewood, Secret forest, Perrygrove, steamtrains and MaryRose pottery to name a few! Nearby is a butterfly farm and maze and River Wye boat trips.

Situated in the beautiful Forest of Dean, on the edge of the Wye Valley and just a couple of miles from the Welsh border, our town house provides a great base for exploring this lush, wooded region. Located in the historic market town of Coleford, it's also conveniently placed for shops, pubs and eateries. Our family lives in the main part of the house, but the loft room is tucked away from our living spaces so you will have plenty of privacy.
The spacious attic room is a quiet haven with a super comfy bed and green and pleasant views of the surrounding gardens. It is at the top of the house, so you do need to climb up a few flights of stairs. The airy bathroom on the floor below your bedroom will be all yours (we have a separate one downstairs). Young families welcome - we can provide a floor mattress for a little one. Please note: the extra bed is really only suitable for children. Please let us know if you plan to bring a child. Free on-street parking. Please read our house rules before booking.
Coleford is a historic small town with little shops to browse, bakeries, pubs, chip shops, cafes and a supermarket. The place comes alive at the annual music festival in July (it can be noisy!). It's a stone's throw from Symonds Yat, Offa's Dyke Path, Beechenhurst, Speech House, Clearwell Caves and Puzzlewood. Tintern and Monmouth are about 20mins, Chepstow, Abergavenny and Ross-on-Wye 25mins.

Danby Cottage is located in the Forest of Dean. So close to nature there's a good chance of seeing wild deer right outside the front door! Forest walks, parks, cycle paths, activity centres, craft centres, pubs and places to eat are all within walking distance. After a long day you'll be able to sit back and relax in the garden in the summer, or by the log fire in the winter! Our extended cottage has been designed specifically for family living with a large living dining room.
The living dining room has a wonderful pitched ceiling and log burning stove for those winter evenings. Our downstairs and garden are completely accessible to wheelchair users. The cottage is surrounded by forest and there are lovely walks in all directions. The kitchen is well equipped for keen cooks and has a lowered worktop for wheelchair users or young cooks who want to help! The cottage was extended in 2007 and great care was taken to make the whole building sustainable. We won a gold for green tourism which we still maintain.
The cottage is in a very peaceful and quiet setting. The area has a very interesting agricultural and industrial history of which there are many remnants to visit. Puzzle wood was once Roman ironworks, Hopewell coal colliery still welcomes visitors, clear well caves was once the source of ochre used for painting and the Forestry Commission have done much to enhance their sites for visitors, including Go Ape and the Sculpture trail. The Speech house is now a hotel with good grub but was once the Verderers Courthouse.

Granton Coach House in Goodrich is in the grounds of our house in a quiet part of the village. Accommodation for 2 people is on the first floor of the building. Many original features have been retained and it's very well equipped to make your stay comfortable. A home from home! We like to welcome guests personally so can offer advice on places to visit, places to dine. There's a wealth of info/leaflets on local walks, cycle and canoe hire etc. The Wye Valley is beautiful at all times of year.
We renovated the coach house with an aim to transform it into an attractive living space for our guests to relax in and enjoy. Several original features still are evident such as the floor and the beams. At one time the coach house had been used by a governess to a young girl living in the main house. We are lucky enough to know a lot of history of the property and have photos depicting that time and these are displayed by the dining area. There is an open plan well equipped kitchen, living, dining space and a bedroom with a super-king bed, wardrobe with hanging and shelf space. A hairdryer and a fan are also provided. The ensuite shower/WC is roomy and the vanity unit has cupboard space. There is a cosy wood-burner in the lounge and central heating throughout. The washing machine and iron and ironing board is in the utility room just off the veranda. The veranda is a perfect place to sit and listen to birdsong. Apart from the TV with Freeview, there are a few board and card games. WIFI is available for our guests to use in the property. All bed linen is fine Egyptian cotton and is provided as well as hand and bath white fluffy towels.Tea towels, dish cloths, paper towels etc are also in the kitchen.
The Wye Valley is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty. Located high in The Royal Forest of Dean, with break taking views across the Wye Valley and Black Mountains, a delightful and intimate cottage for up to 6 people and their dogs. With a Hot Tub, Sauna and a Log Fire to cozy up to, it's ideal for adventurers or for those seeking a relaxing or romantic forest hideaway. Swedish Massages and other spa treatments are available and lovers of good beer have plenty of choice and there's a good selection of eateries and restaurants close by.
As one of our guests recently said: "Truly a stunning Cottage, the pictures really don't do it justice... I would recommend it highly to couples or families looking for a getaway in a stunning Cottage & location." Built in the 1850's and retaining much of it’s original charm, the Cottage has been extended on 5 levels of delightful, spacious, yet intimate living; most rooms open to a huge decking with a Sauna and a Hot Tub ready for you to enjoy the amazing views or gaze at the constellations. For that extra touch of luxury, we also provide Swedish Massages and other Spa Treatments (paid for separately). Within the Cottage, you'll find many original features, including a Log Fire to cozy up to; it also has low ceilings and thick and uneven walls, but the Cottage has been modernised to a high specification, on 5 levels, with 3 bedrooms*, one en-suite, a superb family bathroom, cloakroom/toilet, three lounges/living rooms, a shabby chic dining room and a traditional & well equipped kitchen. *Bedrooms: Room 1: Ensuite with King bed, Room 2: Double Bed, Room 3: 'Adult Size' Bunk Beds - which can be separated into single beds. We also have a Jay-Be Folding Bed. Many of the living rooms open to a huge decking area, for al fresco dining, wrapping up in front of the chiminea or relaxing in the hot tub and sauna - all with breath-taking views of the Wye Valley and Black Mountains. Throughout, you will find comfortable, quality furnishings & décor reflecting the rustic nature of the Cottage and it's surroundings; you will also find a good range of facilities and extra touches - all designed to make you feel welcome and at home. Roam, perhaps rest awhile, in the large rustic garden; regularly visited by pheasants and home to many species of birds, rabbits, other wildlife. You’ll feel secluded in this Forest retreat; a home from home where you can relax after a day’s activities in the forest, at Symonds Yat, elsewhere on the River Wye or further afield to the 'Three Choirs' Cathedral Cities of Gloucester, Hereford and Worcester. It's not a party house, but guests are provided with an excellent entertainment system including three flat screen TVs, a DVD and access to an Amazon Firestick with a multitude of movies, a surround sound music system, turntable and selection of LPs and Bluetooth Speakers. We provide a 'Welcome Pack' including tea, milk, filter coffee, Orange Juice, Towels, Tea Towels and a supply of logs for the fire; guests also have access to the controls for our heating system, so they can ensure they are cozy on winter nights. The nearest pub is a few minutes walk, it's a 3 minute drive to a shop/post office and there's a good selection of pubs, eateries and restaurants within 15 minutes.
The Cottage is located in a quiet and secluded part of The Royal Forest of Dean, but within easy access of a Village and at least 2 good pubs; both serving food. We are located on the borders of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Monmouthshire, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and amazing forest and river adventures. A few miles from Goodrich Castle, Symonds Yat, Tintern Abbey and the picturesque market towns of Monmouth & Ross on Wye. Between 10 - 20 miles, you'll discover Chepstow Castle and the Cathedral Cities of Hereford and Gloucester.

Our beautiful beamed cottage, complete with log burner, is set in an ancient woodland, in Royal Forest of Dean near River Wye. The garden path leads down to a secluded orchard which is a haven for birds, deer and other wildlife. The cottage is located in a quiet country lane, with countryside walks to the local award winning pub (The Ostrich Inn) and town. We are close to all ammenities, cycle trails, river activities and the best of what the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley has to offer.
The cottage is unique, you can see the stars uninterupted by light pollution. Sleep surrounded by music from our resident Tawny Owls with their new family! View the 29 species of birds recorded whilst having a picnic in our secluded orchard. Walk to the nearby award winning 12C inn and experience excellent food, log fire and a warm welcome. When the owls have gone to bed listen to the ........silence!
Our little country lane is the type that hangs bunting in the lane for birthdays and when the snow is thigh deep will turn out and make sure everyone has everything they need. If you get lost the're there to help! Excellent restaurants: The Ostrich Inn, The Saracens Head, The Tudor Farmhouse are all very nearby. There is a 15 min walk into the little town centre which has a cinema, artisan bakery, deli, gift shops, restaurants and take-aways. From the cottage you can walk the countryside and river for miles, stopping for a bite to eat at one of the many quaint pubs along the way.

    Ben2018-02-14T00:00:00Z

    Ben2019-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Vraiment sympa petit endroit confortable.

Nags Head Cottage is our cosy 150 year old coach house set in the beautiful backdrop of the Forest of Dean. Nestled in the heart of the forest, with easy access for walking, cycling and kayaking. The cottage is in a small hamlet in Parkend, walking distance to all amenities. Sheep roam the streets and you may spot wild boar! Perfect for a long staycation, away from it all in the peace and quiet of the woods. Unlimited broadband/WiFi means you can work from home & still recharge your batteries
You will have the entire cottage to yourself. Dogs and muddy cyclists are welcome! The cottage backs onto the cycle trail in the Forest. It is great for serious MTB and downhill riding as well as leisure cyclists. There is immediate access onto the cycle path outside the cottage. There is a spacious 20' lounge with a Laura Ashley oak dining room table that seats 6. The fine Italian leather Marks and Spencer 3 piece suite is very comfortable. The original stone wall of the coach house is exposed providing a lovely feature with original beams in the bedrooms. Use the bluetooth speaker provided to stream your iPod/iphone. There is a smart tv so don't forget your Netflix password! Internet access through the smart TV. There is a DVD player which plays CDs and an Xbox360 - bring your own games. There are some DVDs provided along with some books and games for both children and adults. We provide broadband via WiFi for casual use. It is not unlimited and therefore will not support online gaming, streaming or downloading. A fee may incur for excessive usage. There is a 14' master bedroom, 12' second bedroom, bathroom with full size bath and electric shower over, kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, cooker, microwave and washing machine. There is a double bed in the master bedroom and 2 singles in the other. There is room for a travel cot provided if you need one. There is a good quality metal action sofa bed with a brand new deluxe sprung mattress in the lounge which is suitable for a short stay. The sofa bed is not a full size double and therefore not suitable for 2 adults. There is a 30' secure fenced garden, that includes the original Georgian walled garden. Wooden outdoor seating. Birds frequent the garden including the rare Haw Finch. We provide a selection of bird food and a reference book so that you can watch and identify the birds. We have a number of local maps for you to borrow setting out local bike and walking trails. A vintage 1950's Brexton bone china picnic set and wicker basket give the perfect excuse for a picnic down by the stream - ask and we can give directions to the perfect spot! Sleeps up to 6 if you use the sofa bed and camp bed provided. Our guests tell us that the beds are really comfortable. We provide all consumables such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, washing powder for the washing machine, kitchen roll, toilet rolls etc. For your health and safety we do not provide bed linen. You will need to bring double or single duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases, towels and tea towels. We have just bought new duvets, pillows and duvet/pillow/mattress protectors. The cottage is deep cleaned after each visit to ensure it is sparkling clean and for your reassurance.
The Forest of Dean is a beautiful woodland with endless activities. A Mecca for cyclists, bring your own bikes or hire from local shops. The cottage is next to the RSPB Nature Reserve, and there is direct access from the cottage onto the cycle path into the Forest of Dean. Wild boar and sheep roam the streets.
