At the end of the garden is a wooded area with a raised shallow pond and as the pond is not fenced off, children and dogs should be supervised at all times. There is a bright courtyard at the side of the property which has a large wooden table with seating for ten, along with a charcoal barbecue, perfect for al fresco dining. Off-street parking for two cars is available on the shared driveway and further on-street parking is readily available at the front of the property.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.

Surrounded by nothing but acres of fields filled with wildlife, College Farm Cottage is a charming 18th Century child- and dog-friendly* property, sleeping 3 guests in 2 bed-rooms with 1 bathroom. A short drive from the Cotswold towns of Burford and Lechlade, College Farm Cottage is perfect for guests seeking open space and tranquillity, with plenty of walking routes quite literally on your doorstep.
*Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction Low hedges, acres of flat green fields and an abundance of wildlife – these are the scenes that will greet you as you head towards College Farm Cottage. Situated on the expansive Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the Cotswold Wildlife Park, it’s hard to im-agine that you are only a few miles from Burford and Lechlade. As you make your way along the open fence-less lanes, you will almost feel as though you’re driving through the middle of the fields. Once you have arrived at the end of the farm track, you will find a delightful cottage with plenty of character – if you’re visiting in the summer months, you’ll even get to appreciate College Farm Cottage in all of its beautiful Wiste-ria–covered glory. College farm was built in 1771 by Trinity College of the University of Oxford for the use of tenant farmers as a source of additional income for the college. A working farm up until recent years, College Farm is now owned by the Bradwell Grove Estate, home to the nearby Cotswold Wildlife Park that exhibits over 260 different species of ani-mals – on a quiet day you may even be able to hear the lions roaring from the cottage! Although College Farm is no longer a working farm, it is surrounded by mainly arable farmland, all of which is organic. With a strong emphasis on conservation around the estate, there is plenty of wildlife to observe, from ground nesting birds to deer. You only have to step outside of the door at College Farm Cottage and you are right in the heart of unspoilt countryside, with bridle paths and walking routes running alongside the farmyard. Inside, the cottage is a lovely mix of traditional and new. The original flagstone flooring and woodburner add a touch of rustic charm, while there’s a new JVC Smart TV for guest use. Benefitting from a bright and airy feeling throughout, the cottage is decorat-ed in neutral tones, accented by quirky pops of colour and unique pieces of art and furniture. The back door opens out into a garden, while the windows boast views of nothing but green fields and the historic farmyard buildings. If you’re looking for peace, tranquillity and open starry skies, you’ve come to the right place. Despite its rural location, College Farm Cottage is just a 5-10 minute drive from the beautiful market town of Burford, where you will find artisan boutiques, cosy cafés, and interesting pubs. Walk to the top of the High Street and look back down the hill to enjoy one of the most exquisite views in the Cotswolds – and perhaps the finest ‘streetscape’ in England! Full Description Ground Floor Enter through the front door straight into the… Sitting Room A bright and spacious living space, the Sitting Room has a wonderful quintessential country cottage feel to it. Painted in fresh cream and white tones, the room has a cosy feel thanks to a corner lamp and its central feature, the woodburning stove. Set in the original fireplace, guests are welcome to use the woodburner, with a basket of logs provided. The original flagstone flooring is a characterful feature of this property, eve-ry stone is individual and unique. The Sitting Room boasts some beautiful pieces of furniture and artwork, adding eccentric and colourful highlights to a lovely relaxing room. There is a JVC Smart TV for guests to use, as well as a selection of books and games on the built-in shelves next to the fireplace. The WIFI router can be found in the Sitting Room window. To the left of the entrance to the Kitchen there is a latched cupboard. In here you will find an ironing board, iron, high chair, clothes airer and a mop & bucket. Through the door into the… Kitchen A well-equipped and pretty room, the Kitchen has a table and seating for 3 guests. En-joy breakfast looking out through the mustard yellow linen curtained window into the farmyard and fields beyond. With a cooker, toaster, kettle, fridge/freezer, oven, wash-ing machine, and cupboard filled with crockery and utensils, guests staying at College Farm Cottage are completely set up for cooking and dining in. There is a door leading from the Kitchen into the garden to the rear of the cottage. Through the Sitting Room and up the stairs. Please take care on the stairs as they are very steep and narrow. Into the upstairs hall and turn right into… First Floor The Master Bedroom A simple and sophisticated room decorated in neutral tones with colourful features, this exceptionally large and spacious bedroom is the perfect place for a peaceful night’s sleep in the heart of the countryside. With a comfortable king size bed and its own washbasin, guests staying in the Master Bedroom will appreciate the generous storage space provided by the built-in shelved wardrobe (where the travel cot is stored) and chest of drawers, as well as the beautiful views over the farmyard and fields. The cupboard next to the bed contains the water heater. Turn right into the… Single Bedroom Perfect for children, this compact single bedroom has plenty of storage thanks to the inbuilt wardrobe, and a comfortable single bed right next to the window overlooking the farmyard and fields beyond. Turn right into the… Family Bathroom The bathroom offers guests a bath with a fixed overhead shower, toilet and washbasin with one of the loveliest views in the cottage! Outside The garden of College Farm Cottage can be accessed via the back door from the Kitch-en. A great space for children to play or to even enjoy a BBQ or drink in the sun, the private garden is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the tranquillity of the country-side, except for maybe the occasional lion roar…
Benefitting from the best of both worlds, College Farm Cottage enjoys a secluded location but is also the perfect location for exploring Burford and the wider Cotswolds. Please see the framed OS map in the sitting room where College Farm sits exactly cen-trally. In just a 5-10 minute drive you will find yourself on the High Street of Burford, a stunning medieval market town with plenty to offer. The excellent Co-operative su-permarket on the High Street stocks all immediate shopping requirements and is open 7am – 10pm every day of the week. There is also a Co-operative supermarket in Lech-lade, a 5-10 minute drive in the opposite direction to Burford, open 8am-8pm every day. There are some great cafés in Burford. Head towards the historic church and you will discover the newly built Warwick Hall and café, ideal for a morning coffee and snacks. Another good spot for a reviving cup of coffee or tea is Lynwood & Co on the High Street, where you can also buy delicious local artisan-made Sourdough bread and of course the famous Huffkins tea shop. If you find yourself parking in the main car park for Burford near the church (free parking) you will cross the mill-race connecting to the charming River Windrush that meanders through the Cotswolds, a lovely spot to feed the ducks and swans! Burford used to be a major coaching town between London and the West Country and was home to 35 coaching inns! The town still retains 13 pubs, of which some favour-ites are The Angel, a very good gastropub, The Highway and The Lamb on Sheep Street. There’s also a great variety of specialist shops to explore – including Maggie White and the fascinating Tolsey Museum. Alternatively, The Victoria in Eastleach, a very pretty Cotswold village nearby, is about an hour walk from the cottage and is a wonderful pub with good food, recommended by Emma and William. Also highly recommended - The Five Alls in Filkins and The Bell in Langford, both excellent pubs. All are popular so booking is essential. Around 5 miles south of the cottage, you will find Lechlade-on-Thames, a small historic town on the Thames, from which London could be reached by boat. With plenty of walks, a thriving market square, pubs, cafes and antique shops, Lechlade is slightly off the beaten tourist track compared to Burford and makes for a great day out. Here you will find a fantastic butcher, Cutler & Bayliss, selling high quality meat, cheese, fresh vegetables and bread as well as another Lynwood & Co café. If you fancy exploring a bit further afield, the beautiful ancient Roman market town of Cirencester is about 10 miles south and also there’s Witney which is an easy 11-mile drive east towards Oxford. Like Cirencester it has a great array of high street shops, larger supermarkets such as M&S, Waitrose and Sainsbury’s, eateries and a modern cinema complex. Also, around 15 miles away is the renowned Daylesford Organic Farm in Kingham, a farm complex that offers a farm shop, restaurant, spa as well as other activities such as farm tours and cooking courses. See the Burford Guidebook for further information.

This 'Picture Postcard' Cotswold cottage is quietly situated within a few minutes walk of Lechlade-on-Thames town centre’s pubs, restaurants and shops and is ideally situated for exploring the delights of the Cotswolds. The property is blessed with a wealth of character and has been beautifully restored. Although very close to the Town Centre, this cottage is remarkably peaceful. The cottage is accessed by a footpath and is approximately 20 yards off Sherborne Street.
The open plan living space has its original flagstone floors, exposed ceiling beams and a cosy wood burning stove. A supply of firewood will be provided. Within the reception space lies the well-appointed kitchen with built-in appliances including cooker/hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge etc. A good amount of larder supplies will be provided as well as all crockery, cutlery and glassware etc. The lounge area is also well appointed with Freeview TV, DVD player, WiFi router, radio etc. There are a selection of DVD's, books and games provided. On the first floor there are two bedrooms, one double and one single and each have built –in wardrobes. There is a modern bathroom with shower over the bath, wash basin & toilet. Comfortable beds and bedding along with towels are all provided for your convenience. In the courtyard garden there is a self contained garden room which makes an ideal space for locking away bikes when you wish to explore on foot or further afield by car. This building has electricity and water supply. It also has its own toilet. The cottage is located on a No Through Road and is accessed via a footpath. Very quiet and peaceful despite being just minutes walk from the town centre. Parking is on street, safe and only yards from the front door.
Lechlade and the surrounding area has so much to offer visitors. It is ideally located in the South of the Cotswolds. For the more active amongst us, there are plenty of walking trails of varying difficultly, as well as cycle routes. Lechlade is on the bank of the Thames which provides plenty of other activities such as Boat hire which can be arranged from The Trout Inn which is only about a mile on the Faringdon Road. A little way down the river towards Buscot, you will find St Johns Lock which is the first lock on the Thames. Stay here a while and watch the boats navigate through the lock. Lechlade is served by plenty of Pubs and Restaurants such as the Riverside which is located just beyond the famous Halfpenny Bridge. The local Fish & Chip shop is again just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. There are also Chinese and Indian restaurants as well as Cafe's. If you're after a more leisurely holiday, there are grand open homes to visit such as Kelmscott Manor and Buscot House or you may choose to visit the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust for a spot of birdwatching or catching a glimpse of other wildlife. For big and small children alike, The Cotswold Wildlife Park is just 6 miles along the road to Burford. This is a fantastic dayout for all the family and is a must see whilst you are in the area. If fishing is your thing, the Lechlade Trout Fishery provides rod hire & river fishing. They are located on the edge of town on the Burford Road. There is also a broad mix of shops in the town from the renowned Christmas Shop through to Antiques. Plumtree Cottage is just a couple of minutes walk from the local Londis where you will find all of the essentials that you will need during your stay. You will also find a Butcher and Grocer a couple of minutes away. Other major centres which are within easy reach of Lechlade by car are Burford - 11 minutes, Cirencester (The Capital of the Cotswolds) - 25 minutes, Swindon - 30 minutes and Oxford - 40 minutes.

The Granary is part of The Great Barns at Macaroni Farm which were built in the 1700's. Macaroni Farm is a family run, organic farm situated in the heart of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Guests staying here can enjoy the many footpaths, and walk across fields to the historic village of Eastleach. The Granary is a beautifully authentic barn conversion which retains the feel of the original grain store it once was, with exposed beams, stone and stable dividers upstairs.
The ground floor consists of a large, stone floored open plan living room/kitchen, with electric wood burner. The entrance hall is spacious with a WC under the stairs, that leads up to the bathroom, twin room , and master bedroom. All beds are comfortable Loaf beds. The master bedroom has a super king size bed and its' own WC and basin. Guests would need to walk through the twin to get to the master room, which could also be used as a dressing room for couples who wished to stay.
The historic village of Eastleach is a short walk across the fields from The Granary which also boasts the very popular 'Queen Victoria' pub. We are on the edge of the Coln Valley famous for its' beautiful walks. There are 5 wonderful pubs within a 10 minute radius of the farm, while the villages of Bibury, Burford, Fairford, Lechlade and Cirencester are close by and easy to explore from us. Fairford and Lechlade both have a 'Lynwoods' café which are infamous for their delicious coffee, sourdough and breakfasts.

The ground floor of the property consists of lounge/diner with table that comfortably sits 6. There’s an L-shaped sofa that converts into a double bed and a 42” LCD to relax in front of. Kitchen consists of microwave, kettle, fridge and toaster and all the bits and bobs you’ll need. The ground floor has underfloor heating so it’s cosy warm. Upstairs is a large bedroom with fantastic walk-in shower, another sofa bed and place to hang your stuff up. There’s even space for your four legged friend.
There are electric gates that provide access to the property and off-road secure parking for several cars. If the weather is nice feel free to sit outside. The bifold doors open right up and that’s the perfect spot for a sun- downer.
Bampton is a pretty village of Cotswold stone buildings and impressive church that was used as the backdrop to the village scenes in Downton Abbey. There are 4 pubs in the village, a couple of places to grab a good breakfast, Co-Op shop for all your needs, post office, cash-point and even a hair salon. We are surrounded by amazing countryside, dog walks and some of the best pubs in the country.

Formerly the home of Hardy Amies, (the Queen's dressmaker), this spacious home is located in the charming village of Langford, providing the perfect location for exploring the Cotswold countryside.
Overlooking paddocks and the village cricket pitch, Hardys Barn lies in the quintessential village of Langford. The vast, comfortable lounge has many period features including exposed timber beams, handmade oak bookcases and a large fireplace with wood burner. Complete with a grand piano, this is a wonderful entertaining area with dining table seating six and doors leading to the large landscaped garden. As well as the large lounge, there is a snug area adjoining the kitchen which also has a TV. With four double bedrooms (two upstairs, two downstairs), and 2 double sofabeds Hardys Barn sleeps 10 although there are 2 spare mattress which can be used in the lounge, accommodating 12 in total. There is a family bathroom upstairs (with shower over bath) with a further shower room downstairs. The magnificent garden is laid mainly to lawn with a trampoline to entertain the children and two hammocks for your relaxation. There is a gas barbecue which you are welcome to use.
Hardys Barn is located within the heart of Langford, a peaceful village built from Cotswold stone. There are plenty of footpaths to the nearest town of Lechlade, as well as the neighbouring villages. You are spoilt for choice with many great pubs and restaurants in the vicinity. There is a welcoming, traditional pub in the village, The Bell Inn, which features in the Good Pub guide and has a range of independent local ales and good food. The Pigsty has been lovingly converted into a double en suite room with TV, internet, tea and coffee. The room opens up onto a sunny, newly paved court yard with outdoor seating for you to enjoy. The private entrance via a locked gate means you can come and go as you please. Located in central Lechlade with the river Thames, open fields, pubs, restaurants and cafes on your door step. It's a vibrant and friendly market town with plenty to do!
Built circa 1805 this property was originally a pigsty and later converted in to the wash house for the cottage built around 1850. Now it's a quirky en suite room with handmade mahogany double glazed doors and windows, under floor heating, stone sink, remote controlled lighting and extractor fan and opens up onto a sunny court yard for you to enjoy. The room itself can be used as living room, bedroom or work space with the fold out futon and table, as illustrated in the photos. Note: due to limited space, toilet has a curtain instead of a door. Pigsty is located about 4 metres from my kitchen/back door
Lechlade a very social and friendly place. The terrace row where the Pigsty is situated is a throw back to 1940s living, with close neighbours and cups of tea over the garden fence. It's charming and you'll certainly live like a local and not a tourist.
  • Super petit endroit.

We have a lovely private suite of rooms with double bedroom (with king size bed), shower room and sitting room on the ground floor of our family home. We live in a beautiful Grade II listed converted barn in the village of Alvescot, West Oxfordshire.
Located on the ground floor of Priory Barn. A very private suite of rooms to include one bedroom with king size bed, separate shower room with basin and loo and sitting room. The shower room is on the small size but does have an excellent shower! The sitting room has a large TV with freeview sofa coffee making facilities.
Things to Do and See (here are just a few suggestions!) We are 5 miles from the picturesque town of Burford, 4 miles from Lechlade on Thames and 3 miles from Bampton (where many scenes from the TV drama Downton Abbey, were filmed). There is a wonderful garden centre in Burford (Burford Garden Company), many nearby beautiful gardens/stately homes and old manor houses (Friar’s Court, Kelmscott Manor, Buscot Park, Blenheim Palace etc). There are also lots of stunning walks along the Thames and of course right on our own doorstep we have miles of countryside. Please do just ask us for further information and directions. If you are out on a local walk – look out for Gary Barlow (of the boy band Take That!) and family – they have a house in our village! Eating Out – we are spoilt for choice; The local village pub, The Plough serves lovely pub food and is a short 5 minute walk away. Other good pubs in neighbouring villages are: The Bell in Langford (booking strongly advised) The Five Alls in Filkins The Plough in Clanfield The Plough in Kelmscott The Lamb in Burford The Trout at Tadpole Bridge near Buckland There is an excellent Spanish Tapas bar/restaurant in Faringdon called La Bobina. One of our favourite’s! The Snooty Meehan on the A420 near Buckland does great Indian and Thai food. Plus many more we can recommend, please just ask. There are various take away restaurants (Chinese/Indian/Fish and Chips/Domino’s Pizzas) – please just ask for menus/details. The nearest town for supermarkets/chemist is Carterton (2 miles away). A little further away is Oxford, Cheltenham and Bicester Outlet Village. Nearest Cinema is in Witney Excellent local taxi company is Charlie’s (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) (the postcode is OX18 2QA however, you must state near Oakey Close as the SatNav tends to take you to the other end of the village!) Other things to note We have a working cocker spaniel called Binky - she is very friendly, great with other dogs and young children

As an experienced super host I've learnt our annex's blend of comfort and style ensures guests return to us regularly. I make sure there are plenty of supplies in our well equipped modern kitchenette, fluffy dressing gowns for relaxing in before going out and toiletries of exceptional quality. Our annex is minutes from Faringdon town centre for great local food and drink, a stone's throw from countryside walks and a bus ride to Oxford for culture and shopping. A warm welcome awaits you!
The accommodation is private and tranquil. Our price remains the same regardless of the time of year you visit - and there are no extra costs. It has its own entrance with a key-safe so you can come and go as you please. The kitchenette has an oven, hob, toaster, kettle, fridge, pans and everything else you might need (including, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, eggs, cereals and snacks). The large bedroom has a very comfortable, real double bed, a table to eat or work, storage space and its own ensuite (with power shower). You also have your own outside space with table and chairs, ideal for alfresco dining. The annex is part of our family home so we are usually at hand to answer questions and if not there are plenty of brochures to help you plan and discover all that Oxfordshire has to offer. We're a short drive to Bristol, Bath and Cheltenham, so ideal if you want to explore further afield. We love baking cakes in our house, so you’re very likely to get a slice or two during your stay. We look forward to meeting you!
Our 1970s detached house is on the edge of The Pines and Canada Lane in Faringdon. Behind the house is a path that, within a few seconds, takes you into the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside. A few minutes in the opposite direction you'll find the town centre's friendly pubs, restaurants and shops.

Welcome to Swan View, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Swan View is a beautiful Cotswold stone cottage, set in the heart of the charming village of Southrop, surrounded by the stunning Cotswolds countryside. The River Leach runs past the village and there are an abundance of walks from the doorstep of the cottage. Southrop is also fortunate to have a very well regarded country pub, and is well placed for exploring the wider Cotswold region, with Burford, the “gateway to the Cotswolds” close by, and Cirencester, the largest market town in the Cotswolds, just 12 miles away. Slightly further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon are within easy reach, and day trips to London are also possible. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Swan View is a semi-detached cottage in the heart of Southrop, next to the village green. The front door opens into an entrance hall, off of which are the following ground floor rooms: Sitting room: This well presented room has a wooden floor and an exposed brick fireplace with a wood and coal burning stove, a three seater sofa, arm chair and a bucket chair. There is also a SMART TV with a Blu-ray player, and an iPod dock; Dining room: A lovely room, which looks out through the conservatory to the garden, and contains a large wooden table with seating for up to eight; Conservatory: Double doors from the dining room open into a bright conservatory, with exposed Cotswold stone walls, which is perfect to sit in on a summer evening, watching the sun set from the rattan sofa and two chairs. French doors lead out from the conservatory into the lovely garden. Please note that the conservatory is not heated in winter; Kitchen: An open arch leads from the dining room into the well presented kitchen, which also overlooks the garden. There is an electric cooker and four ring electric hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, slimline dishwasher, and a kettle, toaster and NutriBullet; Utility room/cloakroom: Contains a washing machine, toilet and a wash basin; Snug: A small office area, with a desk, chair, telephone and an additional fridge. Stairs lead up from the hallway to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Bedroom 1: A bright and spacious room, which gets the morning sun, and contains a king size bed; Bedroom 2: Contains a full size single bed, with an additional 75cm wide pull-out single bed also available upon request. When the extra bed is in use there is not much floor space available in the bedroom; Shower room: Contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Doors from the conservatory lead into the large, mature back garden, with planted borders, fruit trees and lawn. There is a table with an umbrella and seating for five, plus a charcoal barbecue during the warmer months of the year. At the front of the cottage is a gravel driveway, with parking for two cars.

Summary Maisey Cottage is a charming, 200-year-old, Grade II listed Cotswold cottage, located in the tiny West Oxfordshire village of Kencot, 5 miles from Burford. It is an ideal holiday destination for up to four people, ideally two couples, sleeping across 2 double bedrooms. A beautiful old Cotswold village home, with wood burner and original features, combined with a contemporary kitchen/dining area, opening onto a covered area, family bathroom and separate shower room, plus road-side parking for 2-3 cars and a secluded garden. It is the perfect cottage and location from which to explore the Cotswolds by car, on foot or on a bicycle. Introduction As you drive into Kencot, you immediately feel the peaceful calm of this pretty Cotswold village, which extends all the way up and into Maisey Cottage. This typical, honey-coloured Cotswold stone property, with original leaded window panes, dates back at least 200 years and has been owned by the same family for over 100 years. Its high garden wall hides a delightful gravelled garden where guests can sit and enjoy the sound of birdsong, and very little else. Heading through Maisey Cottage’s wooden door into the walled garden, you’ll be impressed by the huge, overhanging Robina pseudoacacia tree and pretty border full of flowers and herbs. There’s space here to sit out and enjoy the surroundings and prepare a BBQ. (An electric car charging point in the garden is available to guests for a separate additional fee on a per night basis.) The heart of the cottage – the Central Hallway, Master Bedroom and Living Room - dates back over 200 years, while the new extension, with a fully equipped kitchen/dining area with underfloor heating, and second bedroom, was added in 2016. The Living Room has a wood burning stove and original flagstone flooring, made cosy with Persian rugs, while the bright and airy, contemporary kitchen/dining area is a delightful eating and entertaining space. Maisey Cottage has free, off-road parking for 2-3 cars. Kencot is a small, peaceful village in West Oxfordshire, at the centre of a triangle formed by Burford (5 miles), Lechlade (5 miles) and Witney (8 miles). Evidence of settlement at Kencot dates to 1086, though Bronze Age and Roman objects have been found there. The village is centred around the church, St George's, built in medieval times and widely known for its unusual 12th-century tympanum. Like most other villages in this area it is mainly stone-built, with several impressive 18th- and 19th-century houses. The village hall is home to a lively and active community, with events held regularly through the year. Burford - about 5 miles – one of the most well-known Cotswold towns - is great for gifts, galleries, antique shops, window shopping, pubs, tea rooms and delis. Eating Out, Walks and Places of Interest The owners of Maisey Cottage have produced a fantastic guide of their local area, based on a customised Ordnance Survey map centred on the cottage, and conveniently hung in the Central Hallway for all to use and plan a day’s outing from. The map has a key marked with walks (green dots), pubs (blue dots) and nearby places of interest (yellow dots). There is a copy of the same map, folded, which you are welcome to borrow if you are exploring the local area. Here’s a taster from the Maisey Cottage local guide: Eating Out Langford: The Bell 01367 860249 The closest pub to Maisey Cottage, just a 1-mile walk. Paintings by Rembrandt, Murillo, the Pre- Raphaelites and many more. It was also the place of exile for many Basque writers who fled Spain during the Spanish Civil War. Well worth a visit.

Planters Studio is a delightful countryside retreat, its 1st floor galleried bedroom & bathroom has an exceptionally comfortable cast iron 4-poster double bed within an oak framed roof - certainly romantic, light and airy. Downstairs is a modern fully equipped kitchen, eating and sitting area including a sofa bed. A Welcome Pack is provided. The Studio has its own front door, patio garden & BBQ, with off road parking. A cot is available on request. Dogs/pets are welcome - charge £5/night/pet.
Guests regularly comment in our guest book that the Studio is comfortable, very well furnished and equipped. The Studio is private and, only if needed, we are near bye to help in any way. The Studio is in a 'Golden Triangle' of rolling Cotswold, largely organic, farmland & countryside. Footpaths, from the Studio, flow directly cross-country into gorgeous villages of Cotswold stone and narrow country lanes or minor roads lead further afield for trips by car to pretty country towns and villages.
This part of the Cotswolds we love particularly because it remains very largely working organic farmland rather than a recognised Cotswold destination - like Burford. The near bye villages without exception are all very attractive, most have a pub that serves food from good to restaurant standard. There is a network of footpaths linking the villages. We are happy to recommend our current favourite restaurants and other places or activities of interest.
