Check them out on Facebook to see if the bats will be visible. Make sure you have gas in the tank before you leave Fredericksburg.

It is fun to watch the bats swirl in clouds into the air attempting to avoid the nearby hawks looking for easy pickings. The site is the old narrow gauge railroad tunnel that provided Fredericksburg transportation to San Antonio.

Love bats? Visit this State Park at dusk and watch the colony leave their cave in search of their favorite meal...mosquitoes! It is a sight to behold! Go online and make a reservation, bring binoculars.
