This is a mecca for those studying the Japanese tea ceremony. During the Showa era, there were several tea rooms built in the temple in order to make it a hub for the tea ceremony, and the grave of the immensely famous tea master Fumaiko Matsudaira was moved here. I recommend that anyone interested in learning the ceremony come offer prayers here. The temple often holds tea ceremonies, some of which are private, some of which are appointment only, and some of which are open to the general public without reservation. The bowls they use may come from different eras, depending on the season and the other utensils being used.
