It seems like just about everybody has heard of the Cinque Terre and wants to go there. For good reason. These 'five towns' are jewels set in an emerald sea on a dramatic rocky coast full of hiking trails and gorgeous panoramas. Parking is a nightmare, so cycle, or take the train from Sarzana or La Spezia or, in summer, the ferry from Lerici.
The Cinque Terre national park is an incredible place. You can spend on day by the sea and the other walking through the mesmerizing hills, sorrounded by the scent of the mediterranean maquis. There are lot of trails leading to small and secret sea places as well. All the little towns are very precious.
Nice places! From Rapallo/Santa Margherita Ligure: by train 40 minutes per 4,90€ one way; by boat 40 minutes per 36,00€ round trip.
