The Wyndham Resort has a fabulous hotel beach. The secret to accessing it is to drive up and tell the the guard at the gate that you are coming to the restaurant or for the golf shop etc. Then drive all the way down and turn left. You have the option of parking in the garage (if you are going to dinner for example) or you can continue on and park for free on the lawn all the way at the end of the road. The beach is across the lane. Walk left to take a scenic walk on the beach (mostly deserted) or walk right towards the hotel and enjoy a drink at one of their two beach bars.

Within view from our hilltop home, an easy six minute drive away, the Grand Rio Mar Golf & Beach resort offers top rate tennis and golfing, as well as resort bars and dining and an elaborate breakfast buffet. If you feel like giving the resort a little extra money, they also have a nice casino with slot machines and games of all sorts. $20 for valet parking, $15 for lot parking. They also have a self park garage option with hourly rates as well. Call for details. FYI, by law ALL the beaches in Puerto Rico are public. So ALL the resorts must permit local access. Some resorts may try to minimize this with exorbitant rates for parking like the $30 flat fee the St. Regis Resort charges visitors, but they ALL admit visitors wishing to enjoy the beaches, bars and restaurants regardless of whether they are registered guests. Simply tell the security at their gate that you wish to access the beach or enjoy the dining and bars at the resort and they will gladly admit you. Most are also happy to grant you paid access to their golfing and recreation facilities as well. If in doubt, feel free to call the resort of interest in advance for confirmation of this policy.

Marbella Restaurant at the Wyndham Grand Rio Mar is a must for a excellent dining experience. Enjoy traditional American fare and Puerto Rican favorites every morning at our sprawling breakfast buffet. Sip your morning coffee and take in breathtaking garden and ocean views through our soaring wall of windows.
