Forget about the Peranakan Museum. If you want something more hands on, head over here because not only you get to try Peranakan food, there is a secret museum upstairs that not many people know off. Replicates a traditional Peranakan house back in the day and the place is still run by the family!

Must-try their famous Nyonya (Rice with Sweet Meat) Dumplings, Bak Chang, Peranakan kuehs etc. I like their kueh dadar (coconut filling crepe) and spicy otah (otak-otak).

This Peranakan (Straits Chinese) store sells a strange assortment of things - beaded shoes and delicious "kueh", Peranakan desserts.
