This museum is located in one of the city's most significant heritage buildings, and opened in 2007. It's a contemporary art space in what was Newcastle's police station and lock up from 1861 until it closed in 1982. A fabulous historic building, the 1861 Police Lockup, is now a contemporary art gallery. You will be fascinated by the old cells .. and the art.
