A 35 minute drive. The Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center is located at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. Housed in a circa 1931 Art Deco building conveniently located in the heart of Bradford, Pennsylvania’s historic downtown district, you will be dazzled by the grand foyer with marble flooring and architectural details reminiscent of the 1930s. Make it a day trip: Also stop by the Zippo Museum. Bradford is filled with cute shops, good restaurants and bars. Stop by the Bradford Chocolate Factory for a treat. Try Kabob’s At The Option House for lunch or Beefeaters for dinner.

This museum is high quality and it is free. Marilyn Horne grew up in Bradford and is a famous Mezzo-Soprano opera singer. If you have an interest in music, singing, performance or history, you will love this museum. It is very interactive and is perfect for any age. The Marilyn Horne Hall can be rented for small to medium events and also houses a cafe (Starbucks) and a museum gift shop. You will be glad you visited!
