Another beautiful nature reserve close by. It has stunning scenery two beautiful dams with trout, and is a great birding and hiking spot.

CASH ONLY!! This reserve is roughly 10km from our cottage. A beautifully scenic drive on mostly good road surfaces (some dirt some tar). The occasional small 'bay' to pull over for photo's or even to explore. The reserve has an entrance fee of +-R60.00pp CASH ONLY payable at the boom gate. 2 walks are available to 2 different caves: AASVOELKRANS CAVE is an easy grassland walk (+- 1.5-2hour there) the last section down to cave is a very steep decent (looks more intimidating than it is). Well worth going down to enjoy the view and rock pools. This is a great spot to snack. CARACAL CAVE is a little further and a bit more strenuous with less water access. There is a stocked trout dam close to the parking area which is very easy to walk to and picnic. No reception or sale of cold drinks or snacks.
