House Park BBQ is one of Austin's oldest barbecue restaurants and the barbecue is excellent. It is located within easy walking distance of the Cottage.

4 blocks, on 12th Street. Old school Austin BBQ dive open for lunch only. Picnic tables, outdoor dining and great barbeque.

It doesn't get nearly as much hype as some newer BBQ joints, but it's been churning out good Texas BBQ since 1943. A hidden gem.
