Beautiful gardens with a couple of nice cafes and great views of Wellington city from the top of the hill. If you're visiting Wellington in mid January check out the free concerts and light show in the gardens.

“$ Responsible for the re-emergence of many native species, Zealandia is one of my favourite places to go in Wellington. They are now home to over 200 Tuataras, and let you walk around colonial gold mining spaces. Take as long as you want in the extensive sanctuary, short and long loops are available. Wear appropriate footwear. There are wheelchair accessible walks.”
