Natural gas embedded behind these falls is a sight to be seen. Hike down the trail and find the flame that never goes out!

Eternal Flame Falls is a waterfall within Chestnut Ridge Park. Inside the waterfall, there is a flickering flame fueled by a natural gas pocket within the earth. The flame is accessible by hiking a mild to moderately challenging trail with clear trail markers. There is a public lot on Chestnut Ridge Road approximately 5 miles from the rental.

Located in Chestnut Ridge Park, this is a short but rewarding hike. The trailhead is a 20 minute drive from the AirBnB.

Great hiking trail for adventurers. Very scenic trail in nature ends with a natural burning flame from gas escaping the ground under a waterfall. There are tons of trails in Chestnut Ridge park, but this one is my favorite.

There is a literally a flame under a small waterfall. If the flame is out, be sure it bring a lighter to light it back up. Almost all Buffalo locals have trekked to the nearby Eternal Flame Falls, once a private Western New York spot and now a bona fide tourist destination—just ask the travel channel. DO NOT hike in the Spring or Winter months as it gets muddy and icy.
