I hesitate to recommend this because it's not off the beaten path. If you want comfort Mexican food it delivers at happy hour. For $5 you can get the best Nachos in town that are piled sky high with healthy fixins. They have a late night happy hour as well. You need to check out Ballard so why not try them.

This is a nice, 21 and older restaurant with beautiful wood and metal work throughout.
