One of the biggest open markets in Mexico City: chaotic, loud and crazy, but definitely worth a visit!

For those seasoned travelers/adventure junkies: If you want to explore a market that will blow all of your senses away, the Merced is the place to visit. As the second biggest wholesale market in the city, it's a huge place that sells everything from food to clothes to household items just to name a few. It also has an extensive range of food vendors, where, in my opinion, some of the best tacos in the city, can be found. You can get there either by Uber or by metro, but please note, it isn't the safest side of the city and is located right in the middle of a red-light district. Highly recommended that you visit without any valuables and do not wear any flashy clothes or jewelry.

A really hugh market with everything you might need. To explore the halls it is an adventure. There is a food section where you can taste local dishes.
