90 minute drive north - Located just north of Copper Harbor, a historical fort with a living history program, two 1860s lighthouses on Lake Superior and much more.
This 19th c. US Army outpost at the far north end of Copper Harbor has wonderful, historic displays that recreate the military lifestyle on the Lake Superior frontier all those years ago. Very much worth the visit to this Michigan State Park location.
Fort Wilkins State Park is a 1844 military outpost. Costumed interpreters demonstrate the history of the fort. Nice playground and picnic areas. Weekly programs.
A Michigan state park with something for everyone. A playground, picnic area, park store, interpretative walking tour, and Lake Superior shoreline.
