東大寺と聞いて、まずイメージするのが「大仏殿」でしょう。東大寺の本尊、“盧舎那仏(るしゃなぶつ)座像”(奈良の大仏)を安置する、世界最大級の木造建築で、国宝です。“盧舎那仏(るしゃなぶつ)”は像高(座高)約15mという大きさ。大仏をはじめとする内部の壮大さもさることながら、鏡池に映る大仏殿の姿も美しく、必見です。
