Monastery:Lovely ride up through the hills and amazing views across the town from here. Peace and quiet. It's a good climb, but once there the views are spectacular, and the Exhibition of Historical artefacts is worth taking some time to enjoy

Up in the mountains, you will find the Evaggestrias Monastery, a very beautiful and serene spot on the island. The place is full of history. It was here that the revolution aginst the turks started, and it was here that the first modern Greek flag was hoisted in 1805. You can buy things like wine and olive oil, all made by the monks, in the small shop
