Landmarked neighborhood which means less construction, small houses and a lot less noise. The West Village is much more of a residential area with fewer bars and restaurants than the East Village. Quality, not quantity and less chaotic. Great place to visit and live!
Take the L train to 8th ave and take a walk around the West Village, one of my favorite neighborhoods in the city!

A very historical district for artists of all generations. Jimi Hendrix and Bob Dylan just a few of the musicians that played intimate sets throughout this area when they were just starting out. This is also where NYU has its main campus surrounding the Washington Square Park.
