Traveler's Rest was a stopping point of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, located about one mile south of Lolo, Montana. The expedition stopped from September 9 to September 11, 1805, before crossing the Bitterroot Mountains, and again on the return trip from June 30 to July 3, 1806

We had not been for some time and was blown away by all the amazing changes and additions to the museum. If possible, make an appointment to go across the street and visit the Holt Cowboy museum. What a collection of memorabilia. Then you will have worked up a big hunger, so if it is early go to Hayloft (on the corner) for fried chicken, real mashed potatoes and gravy or... if it is close to dinner, go to the Lolo Steak House, for the best steak dinner in Montana.
