Right next to The Last Supper museum, this church is worth a visit in its own right. Once inside make sure to go out the side door to walk around the small courtyard that has lovely cloisters. There is also a great view of the dome from here.

Leonardo's Last Supper is depicted on the wall of the refectory of the Dominican Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie, one of the most beautiful churches in Milan. This complex dates back to 1459 and in1980was placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List because it is considered of the greatest testimonies of Italian Renaissance. My advice? Take a moment to sit on one of the benches in the magical Cloister of the Frogs, which dates back to the late 1400s.

Although tickets to see the Last Supper will most likely be sold out months in advance. If you are an early bird, go directly to the ticket office at Santa Maria delle Grazie: tourist tours usually buy tickets in bulk months in advance, and unused tickets for that day may free up. You will have to adapt your schedule to the availability slots, but it's worth a try.
