Amazing place to learn about the Silesian culture of the coal mining industry. The museum buildings themselves are a fascinating architecture combination of the old spirit and the modern vibe.
Modern, recently completed museum located underground, in an old mine. It is a complex of both old and new buildings with a sightseeing tower with a great view of the city. The museum itself displays both classic and modern art, as well as permanent exhibitions about Silesian art and naive art (characteristic to the region), history of scenography and many temporary exhibitions. It also boasts one of the best restaurants in the city.

Bound by the heritage of the region, its historical dynamics, its numerous cultures and the leading role of industry, and yet recognizing Silesia’s intellectual and artistic background, Muzeum Śląskie provides a space for dialogue with the past and the achievements of modernity to further explore Silesia, Poland and Europe.
