A short walk down the hill will take you to the Willamette river and hiking trails on Elk Rock Island. Be prepared to hop from rock to rock to get onto the island (when the river is low enough). Playground and portable toilets available.

This island is just so serene. Woh a cute beach and easy walking path it is one of my favorite hikes here.

Be daring, cross the Willamette on foot to access this lovely, historic island. Land bridge emerges when river is low. Otherwise water is neither deep nor fast. But rocky footing is slippery so wear water sneakers. Once on the island, enjoy the hiking path. Sun yourself on cliffs as you watch seals in the Willamette.
