That's your subway (U5) and tram (M10) station. Also a monument of the communist era. The trams almost only run in former East-Berlin and M10 is convenient for Prenzlauerberg and Warschauer Str. Switch to U1 to continue to Kreuzberg and beyond. For the main train station HBF switch to any S Bahn heading West at U5 Alexanderplatz. 45min. Taxi may be over 20€. For SXF Airport, get the RE7 regional train eastwards at U5 Alexanderplatz. Fast but sometimes delayed. Alternatively take S9. Get a stamped ABC ticket. www.bvg.de. 1h15. Taxi may be over 30€.

From here you can get away with the U-Bahn or Metro/ Tram. There are also meanwhile 3 call-a-bike companies on the place, offering you good bicycles to rent. The good thing is, you can leave them anywhere in the city. You do not have to bring them back to the same place. We highly recommend discovering Berlin by bicycle!!

From U-bahn Frankfurter Tor (U5), you can get to Alexander Platz in 6 minutes, take the M10 and be in Prenzlauerberg in 10 minutes, or Kreuzberg in 5 minutes the other direction.
