There are some great cycle routes around Whitstable including the ionic 'Crab and Winkle' cycle route into the iconic city of Canterbury (around 7 miles way) and the longer Viking Trail which takes you along the coast past Herne Bay to Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs.

If you want to hire bikes, then the Crab and Winkle Way from Canterbury to Whitstable is a great ride. You can pick up and drop off from Canterbury and Whitstable. If you want an easier ride you can also go from Whitstable to Herne Bay - nice and flat and along the coast.
