The Northern French industrial city Lille, called "Lille" by the Flemish, is not the hip and fashionable metropolis after which many restaurants call themselves. Lille stands for more than just a name. In an interior of classic versus 60s modern, affordable no-nonsense food is served, just like in Lille. In a relaxed atmosphere, there is dining for everyone, for all occasions and always at fair prices. The painted walls, natural stone, steel and set tables do the rest.

Rijsel is the result of a passion for the French kitchen and an attempt to catch the lightheartedness of Flanders. “Rijsel” is the Flemish name for the industrial city that the French refer to as “Lille”. It is not the sort of hip and modern city you would expect a restaurant to be named after. Sometimes a name is just that, sometimes there’s much more to it. Rijsel is more than just a name. In a classic meets ‘60s interior with a modern industrial feel they serve no-nonsense food for a fair price. The relaxed atmosphere allows you to enjoy yourself, whatever mood you’re in or celebration has brought you to us.

One of the best restaurants of Amsterdam situated in an old school building. Quite pricy, reservations necessary!
