Sandbar Floating Restaurant The tranquillity and beauty of the Bushman’s River Mouth is unspoilt by any fast-paced city vibe. In fact, this part of the town of Kenton-on-Sea, and the Eastern Cape Province at large, is particularly peaceful, known for its laid back atmosphere and friendly folk. The Sandbar Floating Restaurant and Pub is just that; a restaurant that is situated on a permanently moored boat, which bobs slowly and peacefully on the quiet waters of the lagoon. The look and feel of the Sandbar is rustic, homely and comfortable; while the views of the river and surrounding Eastern Cape bushveld are simply breath-taking. There is a huge array of bird species in the area, and many of these make their appearance around the restaurant to the delight of the diners. The Cape clawless otter often visits the boat, playing in the warm waters of the river and entertaining patrons. The menu is characterised by pub fare and South African favourites. Thanks to its being on the coast of the Indian Ocean, fresh seafood is readily available and makes for scrumptious options for discerning diners and little ones alike. Light meals and grills are on offer, as well as tempting desserts. The Sandbar Floating Restaurant and Pub is fully licensed and serves a range of beers, wines, spirits and cocktails. It is the ideal spot at which to have a cold drink after a long, hot day on the beach or to bring the family for a fun lunch on the water’s edge.
