This was a AirBnB nightmare - BUYER BEWARE. While we did stay the whole 28 or so days, we never stayed in the house we booked. After booking, Payton diverted us to a second house because he said the one booked had air conditioning issues. While that would have been ok if only the second house didn't have a huge hole in one of the bathroom sinks larger than a softball. But we were willing to stick it out regardless, but after a couple of days Payton was kicking us out because he said that house was booked but we could not go to our originally booked unit, still due to air conditioning issues. The next house he sent us to had not even been cleaned at all and had unfinished drywall patches throughout. There were dead bugs everywhere. We did not stay in that house. The third house he sent us to had grass grown up everywhere (which he did mow the day or so later, but rat holes were noticeable all over), windows were boarded up, only could enter through the back door which was into a bedroom with the bathroom visible upon entry. The entry door had a large window that could view into the bedroom and bathroom, which I might add, had no door. Plus there was a stain on the ceilings from leaking roofs. You could see into the shower from the outside. Roaches and lizards were in the house. Locks had to be changed on the last house to fix front door access. For almost $2300 for the month, it should have been pristine. What we got was very poor quality. What I didn't mention yet was that no wifi that worked, nor did the TV reception work, challenge getting it off and on. Couldn't get local news. All addresses we were sent to were difficult to find. The first address he sent us to had a different number on the porch so it was very confusing. He responded when he wanted to. Threatened to cancel our reservation after about two weeks. We were not bad tenants, nor were we whiny. We just did not get what we asked for, and what was provided was not the quality we paid for. It suited our needs in that we needed an extended stay for working with NAS Jacksonville. We would have stayed longer if Payton would have made a reasonable deal, as the last place we could have lived with longer, even though it was not what we had originally booked. Payton was fixated on that perceived value, but neighbors said houses on that street Demedici went for more like $1,200, which we could have lived with. Too many repairs were needed to justify the cost, leaving us feeling vulnerable. Moving us from house to house was too much given that our intentions were to find an extended stay we could share costs with our workers, but because of too much moving around our workers decided it was too much and we were left paying the entire bills ourselves and looking for local worker, which added another challenge when you are looking for skilled workers. We are now at the Best Western which is clean, offers a hot meal in the mornings, and about the same money. They made a deal because of the impact of COVID-19 has had on their business.
