We couldn’t have asked for a more ideal location than the Hideaway during our two-week stay in Puerto Viejo! Only a five minute walk from the closest restaurants, supermarkets, and the downtown area (beach included) yet the location still offers that quiet, private environment needed to peacefully start and end your days. The backyard garden is immense — a picturesque way to begin the day with a coffee in hand, as watusas (agoutis) and colourful bird species native to the region make their rounds while the sounds of howler monkeys echo in the distant treetops. We even saw a sloth on our way out one day!

Fauricio is responsive and helpful with all inquiries, and his mother Maria lives a short distance away and is quick to provide supplies when needed. The area is in a safe, secure location — with a gate surrounding the exterior providing extra security. The property is well-maintained and quickly felt like home.

I've visited Puerto Viejo several times over 4 years; this place is among my favorites! A short walk into town, 5 mins or less, you'll find plenty options for food, groceries, retail shopping, beaches, and overall good vibes. Despite being conveniently close to most everything you'll need, the property itself is tucked away and quiet for the days you want to rest in a beautifully landscaped paradise visited by agoutis, toucans, and many other tropical friends. The house is perfectly designed for both connecting with your travel mates & being able to have some alone time. The kitchen is well equipped with cooking utensils, some seasoning and oils, and plenty of water. The bathroom was clean, stocked with toilet paper, and a rainfall shower head with hot water on call. Sheets and towels were aplenty and the beds and A/C in the rooms were perfect. Loved being greeted by the local kids everyday as we walked into town. Communication with quick & thorough. Would/will for sure recommend!

La ubicación de la casa no podría ser mejor, está a unos 400 metros de la calle principal de Puerto Viejo, útil para compras y comidas, pero el barrio es muy tranquilo, rodeado de naturaleza, apacible para descansar y disfrutar la flora y fauna del lugar.

La casa es nueva, con acabados buenos. Como tiene tantas ventanas, cielos rasos tan altos y ventiladores de techo en cada parte de la casa, no es necesario utilizar el aire acondicionado, lo que preferimos más, pues nos parece más saludable evitar los cambios de temperatura bruscos. Nos encantó que la casa trata de mantener la esencia arquitectónica de una casa común del Caribe, pero a la vez es moderna.

Toda la casa estaba muy limpia y aseada, sin malos olores y bien mantenida.

La velocidad del internet no fue suficiente para tres dispositivos conectados, pero con uno, la conexión fue estable y suficiente en carga y descarga.

El parqueo para autos está muy bien diseñado y es muy espacioso.

La cocina está muy bien equipada.
