This was a wonderful spot for our family. It checked all of our boxes; close to town, available for a 1-night stay, fairly priced, & such a unique experience. The log cabin itself felt like stepping back in time to a slower, simpler lifestyle, almost as if we were visiting the Ingalls family from Little House on the Prairie. The grounds were vast & we enjoyed roaming to see the lake, orchard, and garden, which gave our kids plenty to explore.
That said, a bit more upkeep would really improve the stay. Inside, we noticed several spiderwebs & at one point a small spider was dangling right above me while I was making coffee. The back deck, while offering a beautiful lake view, had exposed nails, rotting boards, & mossy railings that made it feel unsafe to enjoy. The garden was also overgrown, though we did enjoy finding blueberries among the prickly weeds.
Overall, we had a memorable stay & appreciated the charm, but it feels like the cabin & property are being left to the elements.
