  • From a value for money perspective I couldn't be any more complementary about Sinead's accommodation offering. Great location right in the heart of Newcastle but not at all noisy even though my room was at the front of the building right on the main street. Sinead made a special trip from her work to greet me on arrival right on the arranged check-in time. All facilities that you would require are provided and Sinead is readily available to address any further requirements that you may have. Just a great value experience which you can consider for your Newcastle experience.

    Welcome to our fully self contained One Bedroom appartment set in the centre of Newcastle where you can experience some of the best Cafes, Quirky shops, Parks, Civic Theatre and the Art Gallery + the perfect position for those visiting Newcastle's University, NeWspace. I love to travel, and always enjoy meeting some great people during my stays in Airbnb accomodation and now I feel privileged to host you and help you to enjoy our great city.
    The Experience When travelling we really love to experience places that are relaxing, clean, cosy and really different from our home, but still have everything we need. With this in mind we've created a place inspired by our love for Japan, we've included some books to read, a sound bar to listen to your favorite tunes, Netflix to watch a movie or a range of games to beat your partner and have a laugh. Otherwise everything is close enough to take a walk and experience the beautiful Newcastle culture and senery.

  • A short walk from the light rail - Civic stop. Very easy to get in and out, quiet, modern and a cafe directly downstairs with good coffee. Open on weekdays. Walked to most places and did a stunning walk at sunset at the ANZAC Memorial Walk. Light rail handy to get to Newcastle Beach. The apartment had lots of personal touches and I enjoyed my stay. Comfortable and there was nothing I needed that it didn’t have. Warm and plenty spacious for one person plus thoughtfully decorated. Looked brand new and I got a good sleep and plenty of hot water. Breakfast provisions supplied that came in handy. Would definitely stay again.

  • I found several cockroaches in the bedroom but I was way to tired to do something about it! They were those small ones though! If that makes it a little better! In general it was not clean at all! Spiderwebs in the kitchen and bedroom, dust everywhere, darkened door edges by hand dirt... on top of these the cockroaches!

Centrally located between Bar Beach and Darby St (with it's selection of cafes and restaurants). Walk The Anzac Walk to the Newcastle CBD. Browse the Olive Tree Markets monthly at Civic Park. The Civic Theatre is a 10 min walk away. Hop on the light rail and check out Beaumont St, Hamilton. Take a day trip by car to the wineries 60 min, Nelson Bay 45 mins or Barrington Tops.
    This 1 bedroom unit is almost brand new throughout with private entrance and fully functional new kitchen, soft carpet, plantation shutters, TV with Netflix, WIFI, Bluetooth speakers to stream music from a device, new furniture, washing machine to name a few things. This unique space is completely not shared with any other person/persons. Self cater or dine out. A short walk to plenty of food choices a selection of supermarkets and a number of beaches. If The Supercars are your thing it's a 25 minute walk to the track and 4 blocks from Sports Ground No.2 where the concert is held.

  • David’s place met all expectations. Great location, just a short walk to beautiful coastal walks and the main street with tons of coffee shops and restaurants. Comfortable and clean place. Bread, jam, milk, tea and coffee were provided. David was very pleasant and easy to communicate with. He even went above and beyond with arranging the storage of our luggage for a few hours after checkout. Would definitely recommend staying at David’s place.

  • PERFECT LOCATION!! My husband and I are from the US. We stayed at Stacey's place for a month. The condo is modern, cozy and larger then the photos depict. Located just off Honeysuckle Dr., entertainment precinct as your playground. It has an extensive balcony completely furnished overlooking the city that offers indoor living to out. We absolutely loved this place. Restaurants, cafes, pubs, and beaches all within walking distance. Also close by is Civic square and museums. We did not rent a car. If we had an extended destination bus stops and New Castle interchange are a 10 minute walk. We were able to cook a few meals. The local market/grocery store is a 15 minute walk. Although we ate our way through New Castle experiencing no fewer than 50 restaurant. The use of the washer/dryer is nice to have on long trips. Stacey is a very gracious and kind person. She was very helpful and responsive to our questions, which is highly appreciative. She is the perfect hostess. We had a lovely comfortable stay. Highly recommended.. Thanks again Stacey.

Just a note for light sleepers, don’t choose the front bedroom as the pub opposite the house is noisy but it seemed to shut by 11pm and then it all went quiet.   • We hated saying goodbye to Bull Street Retreat. The house is a perfect blend of history and modern luxury with loads of character, heart & soul and quality fittings and furnishings. Located in Cooks Hill, the home is an easy walk to everything delicious, interesting, entertaining & breathtakingly beautiful. The generously proportioned & comfortable lounge in the light filled downstairs area is super relaxing for lazy afternoons with a glass of Hunter Valley wine. Coffee lovers are spoilt for choice with numerous cafes metres away. Mark was spot on with his dining recommendations, thank you! We're looking forward to returning to enjoy all Newcastle and Bull Street Retreat has to offer.

The bed and bedding comfortable, fabulous kitchen and bathroom. The living area with large terrace perfect for relaxing. It was just so effortless and we had a wonderful stay.   • We (family of 5 - 2 adults, 7 and 5 year old and a 6 month old) stayed here in Cris's unit for 3 nights. We loved it. Newcastle is beautiful and his unit is very central (woolies and shopping centre around the cnr). There is a parking permit for 1 car around in the lane at the back of the building. We were relocating from Brisbane to Canberra, so we had 2 cars. There is plenty of street parking at the front of the building on the opposite side of the road (2 hour) but free from 6pm to 9am i think, so this suited us because we were out exploring. There is so much to see and the beaches are just beautiful. It would he helpful to know that you will have to park around the back or street park to get the keys. You are able to access the garage door at the back of the building (thought the foyer) to unload your luggage etc. This is easier than wheeling it around the street to the front of the building. The kitchen is fully functional and easy to use. The knives are sharp (which is rare in holiday accommodation). The unit has been tastefully renovated and is very comfortable. There is a stick vacuum which is great for cleaning up little messes as they happen. There is also a small clothes airer which is handy for those items too delicate for the dryer. There are plenty of pillows and coat hangers Cris's unit is great for young families and couples. We loved our stay here.

    Head out and party or stay in, relax and make use of the cooking facilities and entertainment. Cable TV and Netflix is available to all guests. The room has a built in wardrobe for your use. Next to each bedside table is a powerboard for charging your phone or device. Towel hooks are installed on the back of your door. The bathroom has a shower over spa bath which is great, however it requires a significant step to get in which might not be ideal for those with limited mobility.
    Short walk to Darby St cafe hub, bars/nightlife, and only a little further to our world class beaches. A ten minute walk will find you scoping views from the famous ANZAC Walk. This is a high density living area, as with any city, there is a possibility of some noise.

  • The air conditioning especially in the the main room and the bedroom was a great relief in the heatwave! The apartment is beautifully decorated (with a massive couch and bed) and the place was overall clean with great amenities. Thank you for the breakfast food and pantry was a lovely extra. The Cook Hills area is lovely having being to Newcastle a few times, it's got great coffee shops and cafes nearby. I will recommend this place if you want to stay outside of Newcastle CBD as Bar beach is only a 10 min walk and the complex was quiet and had plenty of parking. Eamonn was very responsive and accommodating. Thanks for a great stay.

    This is a beautiful little self contained bungalow located at the back of my house. You will have everything you need for a comfortable and unique stay in this (very!) light-filled space. All the windows are leadlight and the soaring window at the front (from a 100 year old church in the Hunter Valley) adds to the distinctive charm. You will have your own access. You can park in the driveway or on the street (unrestricted on weekends and after hours. Otherwise its a 2hr limit)
    You are welcome to use anything in the fridge and pantry, and there will be an abundance of breakfast provisions. I’m sure you will be tempted by the glorious cooking smells which waft in from Darby st every afternoon though!
    Cooks Hill is a heritage listed suburb with a very interesting history so even if you don't venture further afield, the streets in this neighborhood are very picturesque. Darby street (the next street over) is the most popular cafe district in Newcastle and there are plenty of beautiful clothes and gift shops as well. We are also lucky to be surrounded by art galleries. The Newcastle Art Gallery is right at the end of this street and there are other private galleries right in this area. If you do feel like walking or riding a bike (there are lots of bike hire places, or you can borrow mine), there are a lot of great areas to explore. Bar Beach is only a 15 minute walk away and is a beautiful example of the amazing beaches we have here. Beach towels, beach umbrellas and sunscreen are all provided. If you go there at lunch time Swell kiosk makes great food. You can walk up the hill from Bar Beach to historic King Edward Park and while you're there have a dip in the Bogie Hole. In the other direction is the (working) harbor where you can sit and watch the ships coming in. If you feel like a walk from there, you can walk right along to the lighthouse, and out along the breakwall. If it's the right time of year you may spot some whales, otherwise there are often dolphins in the harbor. There are heaps of cafes, bars and restaurants in that area so it is certainly a great place to be at night-time as well. For things you might need, there is a corner shop just around the corner, and Aldi supermarket is a 5min walk. There is also a chemist on Darby street. There is a big shopping centre (Market-town) about a 15min walk away where you will find two supermarkets, medical centre, chemists, bottle shops, and loads of other shops.

I especially loved waking up to the beautiful stained glass windows, so serene and zen-like with the bedroom’s clean lines and the angled ceiling.   • Stylish. Modern. Central location. Michael’s apartment was just what we were looking for and was adequate enough for our 1 night stay. The location is central for Newcastle and is walking distance to Honeysuckle. Parking was available but make sure to read the check-in instructions throughly as we got in the wrong lifts and it wouldn’t let us out of them without that lifts’ key fob. Note to any future guests looking to book for more than 1 night: I would recommend bringing your own pillows and a hairdryer. The pillows are very basic and way too soft, we got a sore neck. There’s no hairdryer in the apartment despite the listing saying there is one so keep that in mind also. Thank you for the hospitality Michael and we look forward to staying again.

    3 bedroom Cute Guesthouse all with queen beds, 1 little cute bathroom, this property is perfectly located just steps to Newcastle interchange train station- 2min walk to Marina&Harbour, short walk to honeysuckle precinct, perfect for bike rides with bars and restaurants. 5-10min drive away from beaches 5min Note the house doesn’t have full kitchen, it has a small kitchenette containing microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, plates, etc. The house is divided, guests have independent front entry.
    The space consists of 3 bedrooms all with queen beds, 1 small bathroom. There is lounge / dining room that contains air conditioning, gas heater, fridge, microwave, toaster, tea and coffee, there are no extra cooking facilities. Please note the back of the house might be occupied as well with other guest but the front area offered is separated and private with its only independent access.
    The neighbourhood consists within close proximity of the Newcastle Interchange which is the main transport hub of Newcastle. The area also consists of residential apartments, hotels and businesses. The Newcastle Marina and harbour is located a short stroll across the road, with a great walk or bike ride along the harbours edge leading to restaurants, cafes and the beach.

Living/kitchenette space tight but sleeping rooms large with comfortable beds and clean, crisp linens and quilts. 2 x bathrooms. A TV in every room. Our Jack Russell terrier was also welcomed and sat keeping watch on the verandah.

Only being an 8min walk from Marketown Shopping Centre or a 20min walk or 6min light rail ride to the business sector of Newcastle, if you are here for business or pleasure, this apartment will fulfil all your needs. This upgraded apartment is located upstairs for the ultimate privacy on THE main street of Newcastle, Hunter Street. Right across the apartment, you will be able to enjoy the Marina, Foreshore and beaches nearby.
    Entering the apartment, you walk up a few steps to your own private apartment. With spacious bedrooms, 1.5 bathrooms, dining and living area, as well as a homely environment, your stay will be enjoyed. Kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, induction stove, microwave, kettle and a toaster, with plenty of plates, cutlery and cups. Netflix is also included, as well as your own wifi. We have improved the apartment with suggestions from previous guests, adding curtains and blinds to stop sunlight and increase privacy in the apartment, as well as upgrading the couch and added a shoot outside the window for the disposal of your bin waste when full.
    Hunter Street is THE main street of Newcastle as well as being the 2nd largest city in NSW. It offers plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes. With the surrounding areas such as King street, Honeysuckle and Darby street, there are always plenty of options to enjoy yourself and entertain your family and/or friends.
