Located on the brink of the historical Center Avenue, The Delta College Planetarium presents a more modern and futuristic image, offering a balance of entertainment along with education. This revolutionary structure with very distinctive award winning architecture has become a Bay City icon that commands the crowds with sold out shows to this day. The state-of-the-art Domed Theater is literally the “center of attention” as you’ll notice its location being in the actual center of the NASA funded facility. An intentional design meant to represent the sun as it’s in the center of our solar system. In fact, each design element from the shape and color of the building inside and out, to the décor, even the shape of the windows, and names of each area were well thought out details in an effort to represent astronomy and space exploration. Keep your fingers crossed for clear skys on observation nights as you head out on the rooftop observation deck. The gift shop has freeze dried meals and other unique items.
