Hidden gem of a museum at Amherst College. Free admission. World class collection of dinosaur track fossils. Very kid friendly. Ask the docent for the scavenger hunt sheet!
Free museum with an incredible collection of full sized dinosaur fossils, tracks, etc. Great collection of rocks and minerals as well. Nice size for a short visit. Not recommended with little kids due to fragile displays.
The museum houses outstanding exhibits that include vertebrate and invertebrate paleontology specimens. Some displays illustrate the evolution and ecology of major groups of animals, and others describe the geological processes which have formed the earth and local structures. Particularly noteworthy is the world-famous dinosaur track collection.
